The dust is still settling, Monday morning has come and gone and we’re reflecting on another awesome Winter Throwdown event (if we do say so ourselves).
We have now raised over $2,100 for our chosen charity – Wellington Homeless Women’s Trust. Every year we try to choose a local charity that really goes above and beyond investing the Wellington region, the work that WHWT does is no exception to this. You can still donate here if you wish!
Congratulations must of course go to our top three podium finishers in what was the tightest placings going into our Final event – it really was anyone’s to win or lose! A nail biting event with Too LITT to Quit (CCW) taking out the top spot, closely followed by PB and the Backpack (Instinct fitness) and Pac Dogs (CF Porirua). Wicked to have three different gyms feature in those top three placings.
The event couldn’t run without our secret weapons Coaches Jess and Freyja, these two give up so much of their time to deliver a well run and slick competition, it’s always on time and its alway well thought out. Alongside these two we have our fantastic volunteers – these guys enable us to keep this event running down to the minute, always with a smile and lots of in-between heat banter. True legends!
We’re especially thankful to the local gyms that continue to support us with the event, returning year after year with athletes to compete. We love seeing returning faces and those fantastic support crews!
Well done to the 30 teams that competed – we hope the bodies aren’t feeling too sore and you guys enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed hosting you.
Pictures from the event will be coming over the next week.
We hope to see you guys again in 2022!
