I’m quite a relaxed person and like to create a friendly and open environment when coaching. I began CrossFit officially in 2011 but without knowing it I had been doing CrossFit style training for a few years in the gym with a group of friends as a way to stay strong and fit for competitive Surf Boat Rowing. My sporting background is predominantly in Surf Life Saving and specifically Surf Boat Rowing where I was lucky enough to represent New Zealand a few times.
I absolutely love to help people learn new skills and achieve things they didn’t think they could do. I completed my Level One course back in 2012 and have also attended many other courses since such as, CrossFit Strongman, Gymnastics and Mobility courses along with a few weightlifting courses. I still compete when I can in CrossFit and bring experience as an athlete and as a competition coach to the CCW coaching team. I’m generally the coach responsible for any loud and heavy music being played during classes.
During my day job I work for Interislander as Training and Development Manager, when not working or CrossFitting you’ll find me at home relaxing on the couch reading or at the surf club coaching surf boat crews.
